Greetings! On behalf of the Wisconsin Black Media Association (WBMA), thank you for visiting our website.
Since 1975, WBMA has been an integral part of Milwaukee and surrounding communities, playing a key role in developing the region's Black journalists and communication professionals.
Our organization has three main purposes:
● To help media better reflect the multicultural community in which we serve,
● To support African-American professionals in mass communications, and
● To use our communication skills to assist the Black community where appropriate.
We are inspired by and indebted to those who have laid the foundation for Black communicators and storytellers to succeed in Milwaukee and throughout Wisconsin.
As president, I am proud of the progress WBMA has made over the past few years, especially in providing our members with valuable programming, career development, and networking opportunities. We are committed to continuing such efforts in the years to come.
Please take time to explore our site and learn how WBMA continues to support the community.
In these challenging times, advocacy of Black storytelling is needed now more than ever. With that in mind, WBMA will remain at the forefront of championing black journalists. Here’s to making our community a better place for future generations.
In solidarity,
Earl Arms
President
Wisconsin Black Media Association
