Ben Hart Becomes WJCL's New President and General Manager


Ben Hart succeeds Timothy J. Morrissey, who is retiring this fall and will become the new president and general manager of WJCL in Savannah, GA.


Ben is an accomplished journalist and leader, exceling at every assignment over his long career with Hearst. He helped WISN become the #1 news station by bringing his passion for the 1st Amendment and local television’s vital community role.


Just A Little History


Ben started at Hearst Television in 2002 as a news producer at ABC's Affiliate, WAPT-TV in Jackson, Mississippi. In larger markets like WDSU-TV in New Orleans and KCRA-TV/KQCA-TV in Sacramento, he advanced to producer positions at Hearst stations immediately one after another. He later returned to WAPT as assistant news director and got promoted to news director. He then landed in Milwaukee as News Director to lead WISN’s news effort.


Farwell


Ben will leave WISN Friday, September 18th to start as general manager and president of the Hearst station in Savannah the week of September 21st. Ben has be a huge asset to Milwaukee and the WBMA Family. All the best to you, Ben! We’re very proud of Ben and we’ll miss him but we are happy that he will still be a part of the WBMA family.
